Cookbook for Inline Race Event in Saturn
Note: Saturn doesn't use categories yet, so we focus only on Elite categories to adapt the race.
This cookbook is based on a real event: Morat - Fribourg.
The event runs for 2 days, Saturday and Sunday of a weekend. For the 2024 edition: October 5-6, 2024 in Fribourg CH (UTC+2 for this date, UTC+1 + winter offset)
It is composed of many races. For this tutorial, we will focus on 3 of them: "Mini Morat-Fribourg", "Courtepin Fribourg", and "Morat-Fribourg".

Setup Instructions
Step 1: Login into Saturn
If not registered, follow the get started tutorial
- Go to Saturn
- Log in
Step 2: Create an Event
If you're not registered into an organization, follow the get started guide
- Go to Event page
- Click on new

Fill in the form:
- Name: Morat-Fribourg
- Start time: 2024-10-05 00:00:00
- Finish time: 2024-10-06 23:59:59
- UTC offset: UTC+02:00
- Click on load
Step 3: Setup of the Event
- Go to Settings page
- Click on add

Fill in the form:
- Name: Start - Morat
- Click on create

Repeat steps (2 to 4) for each point:
- Start - Courtepin
- Start - Mini
- Courgevaux
- Coulevon
- Courtepin
- La Sonnaz
- Porte de Morat

Step 4: Creation of the Manual Sensors
Hint: Name the sensor the same as the points
For each point, except for Start - Mini, we will need a manual sensor.
- Go to Manual sensors page
- Click on new

Fill in the form:
- Name: Start - Morat
- Click on add sensor

Repeat steps (2-4) for each sensor:
- Start - Courtepin
- Courgevaux
- Coulevon

The manual sensors links can be shared with volunteers until this step.
Step 5: Linking of Manual Sensors to Points
Note: The finish line will have two schedules due to Mini-Morat Fribourg on the previous day
- Go back to the Settings page on the placed sensors section
- Click on add

Fill in the form:
- Point: Start - Morat
- Sensor: Start - Morat
- Start time: 2024-10-06 10:20:00
- Finish time: 2024-10-06 15:00:00 (People arriving after the race finish time (12:00:00) will be marked out)
- Click on add placed sensor
- Repeat steps for remaining placed sensors:

Step 6: Importing Participants
Note: Create a CSV file, paste the participants into it, save as classic CSV (comma delimited)
- Go to Participants page
- Click on import button
- Click on the file input
- Select the file you just created
- Click on import
- If the configuration is correct, all your participants should be imported
The race is now fully configured. It's time to start managing the event live.
Step 7: Start the Gun Start Races
Info: The start time of the Morat-Fribourg and Courtepin-Fribourg racers are generated by manual sensors.
- Go to admin measures page
- Click on start a race

- Race: Mini-Morat
- Start time: 2024-10-05 14:00:00
Step 8: Managing the Event
- To mark participants DNS: Go to Participants page and click on DNS button
- To mark participants DNF: Go to Participants page and click on DNF button
- To mark participants DSQ: Go to Participants page and click on DSQ button
- To mark participants DEFAULT: Go to Participants page and click on restore button

If participant time is missing: Go to admin measures page, click on new, fill in the form:
- racer: the racer
- points: the points where the time is missing
- time: the time at which the racer passed the sensor
- comment: The reason the time is manually added Click on add measures
