Event

Note: This page is about events in general. For information about the event settings page, see event settings.

An event is a time-limited and geographically-specific occasion where a race or series of races takes place. For example, the famous "Patrouille des Glaciers" occurs in April (15 to 21 in 2024) and is located in Valais (Switzerland), specifically in Zermatt, Arolla, and Verbier.

Introduction

An event is associated with an organization, and all users within an organization have access to that organization's events. Points, Placed sensors, Races, Manual sensors, Participants, and Manual corrections are all related to an event.

An event is defined by three key pieces of information: name, start time, and end time.

Definition of an event

Name

Note: Our system doesn't enforce uniqueness, so be aware not to name two events identically in order to be able to differenciate them easily.

The name of the event.

Start Time (From Time)

Hint: It's recommended to set the start of an event to 00:00 on the first day.

End Time (To Time)

Hint: It's recommended to set the end of an event to 23:59 on the last day.

The end time of an event defines the main timeframe for measurements. All measurements outside of the event timeframe will not be taken into account.

UTC Offset

Info: The default UTC offset is your computer's UTC offset.

The UTC offset of an event defines the time difference between GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) and the event location. This allows data to be input from anywhere in the world using the correct local time.
